Kids Stuff

Kids find there are lots of adventures for them. Explore the ruins at Furnace Town Historic Site and participate in an archaeological dig.

Kids can canoe, hike, bike, swim, fish and visit local fairs and carnivals. Try a crabbing line off a public dock with a weighted piece of chicken for bait. Identify wild birds in the forest or along a beach.

There's lot's of Kid's Stuff in Worcester County!

Pack up the car to check out the
Salisbury Zoo, an award-willing small zoo. And it's free! The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, located in Salisbury, has a tremendous display of regional decoys and wildlife paintings. They offer children's programs as well. Furnace Town offers a Young Finders Program inviting kids to discover how iron was made at the Nassawango Iron Furance.

Kids, take your parents on a camping trip to Janes Island State Park. While there, teach them to canoe, crab and fish. Cook your catch on an open fire. When finished, bike around the park to work it off and look for deer and wild turkey at dusk.
