Events

The Lower Shore has a plethora of events to take part in throughout the year. Here are just a few examples:

The Crisfield Arts & Entertainment District organizes workshops and exhibits year-round for the public to participate in and enjoy! Activities range from poetry readings to arts and crafts and so much more. There's something for everyone here!
The Roland E. Powell Convention Center is always teeming with activity and offers guests an amazing view during its countless events such as the Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition & Art Festival in the Spring and Comic Con in the winter, just to name a few.

Downtown Salisbury's is also a bustling place. Third Friday during the warmer months features tables upon tables of local vendors, live music, and plenty of people to meet! The Downtown businesses, like Roadie Joes, also host their own events such as paint and sip throughout the year.

Our universities also encourage the public to participate in their events. Salisbury University hosts events such as film screenings, lectures, and more that are open to the public, often for free! The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) also holds several workshops throughout the year. Both universities operate galleries that are open to the public and hold opening receptions for new exhibits as well

Still not sure what to do while you're here? Check out the county tourism sites or our own events tab to see what's going on! Also be sure to check out our StoryMap which displays several interactive maps of water trails, land trails, historic sites & museums, and other points of interest here on the Shore!
