GIVING TUESDAY

donate now! Help us with our African American Heritage Project and Other Programs!
The Shore Gives More

There's Black Friday, Cyber Monday and now Giving Tuesday!

Giving Tuesday Donations Will Help Our Ongoing Programs and Develop Upcoming Ones!

The Beach to Bay Heritage Area is participating in The Shore Gives More Giving Tuesday event again in 2024! This year, Giving Tuesday falls on December 3rd! Giving Tuesday is a worldwide movement to encourage giving and celebrate generosity. Nowhere is there more generosity than right here at home. You don't have to wait until December to start helping though! Donations start November 25th!

This year, the Beach to Bay Heritage Area has set a goal to raise $2,000.00 to help us with our on going programs such as the African American Heritage Project and Museum Passport Program. Donations will also help us develop new content. We will be consulting with the Pocomoke Indian Nation to redevelop the Beach to Bay Indian Trail. The Beach to Bay Indian Trail was designated a National Recreation Trail by the Department of the Interior in 1993. The trail is highlighted with stops at museums and parks throughout Worcester and Somerset counties. We are planning to re-image the trail, not just in name, but with expanded content and interpretation. While it was intended to recreate the native pathways and migration patterns from the beach to the bay by Native Americans, it lacked accuracy due to insufficient consultation with the area’s Indigenous People

By completely revamping the Beach to Bay Indian Trail and improving upon our other interpretive materials, The Beach to Bay Heritage Area wants to increase tourism to our region that is focused on cultural heritage.

This holiday, support our mission and help fund this new exciting project! Every single individual and every single dollar makes a difference!

Big thanks to the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, 47ABC, and Shore Untied Bank who are the sponsors of this year's Shore Gives More event!

Eastern Shore.

We have partnered with the Rural Maryland Council to create online virtual tours of our historic sites and
attractions in order to encourage folks to get back to visiting and supporting them.

We are partners with the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority to encourage and enable all of our heritage
area stakeholders here on the shore to apply for capital improvement projects whether it’s facade or
structural improvements, building a new exhibit or creating handicap accessibility.

Please consider giving to the Beach to Bay Heritage Area this year on December 3rd either as a pre-
scheduled gift or as a donation during the day. Visit Shore Gives More to donate.
