Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday Donations Will Help Our Ongoing Programs and Develop New Ones!

The Beach to Bay Heritage Area is participating in Giving Tuesday event again in 2025! This year, Giving Tuesday falls on December 2nd! To celebrate the launch of the new Shore Gives 365 platform and the lead up to Giving Tuesday the Community Foundation of the Eastern (CFES) Shore will be matching, dollar for dollar, the first $80,000 in donations made through the Shore Gives 365 platform!
Giving Tuesday is a worldwide movement to encourage giving and celebrate generosity. Nowhere is there more generosity than right here at home. You don't have to wait until December to start helping though! Early Giving starts November 18th!

This year, the Beach to Bay Heritage Area has set a goal to raise $1,000.00 to help us with our on going programs such as the African American Heritage Project, and the Museum Passport Program.

Our latest project, History, Heritage & Homelands of Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore, honors our region's Indigenous heritage in a respectful and authentic way. Once known as the Beach to Bay Indian Trail, this National Recreation Trail has been completely reworked to be more culturally appropriate and includes new interpretive materials including a guidebook and interpretive signs. By creating a guide to Native American homelands (with the help of the Pocomoke Indian Nation) we are able to encourage the exploration of Native American heritage on the Shore in a way that acknowledges the original inhabitants of the land and their continued presence.

Donations will also help us develop new content and host future events. We are currently working on the creation of a new mural in Pocomoke City to honor the city's namesake: the Pocomoke Indian Nation. Public art meetings were held at the Delmarva Discovery Museum and a survey was put out to the public to gather input. Several artists submitted designs and artist selection is slated for November.

Consider supporting our mission and help fund new exciting projects! Every single individual and every single dollar makes a difference!

Big thanks to the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore for hosting Shore Gives More (now Shore Gives 365) for the last 10 years!

In 2024, Shore Gives More raised over $1,000,000 in donations for local nonprofits!

Get Ready for the Shore Gives 365!

We have partnered with the Rural Maryland Council to create online virtual tours of our historic sites and
attractions in order to encourage folks to get back to visiting and supporting them.

We are partners with the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority to encourage and enable all of our heritage
area stakeholders here on the shore to apply for capital improvement projects whether it’s facade or
structural improvements, building a new exhibit or creating handicap accessibility.

Please consider giving to the Beach to Bay Heritage Area this year on December 3rd either as a pre-
scheduled gift or as a donation during the day. Visit our Shore Gives 365 page to donate!
